Statesboro- William Adon Wright, Jr. age 70, passed away Thursday, March 3, 2022 at Candler Hospital. Mr. Wright was born in Metter, Georgia on October 9, 1951 to the late W.A. Wright, Sr. and Katherine Parker Wright. He was a truck driver for Mayfield Heavy Equipment Company for many years and his CB handle was Red Rider. Mr. Wright enjoyed fishing, loved sports, especially NASCAR, and enjoyed traveling to the mountains. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, David Wright and two sisters, Irman Dean Humphrey and Fonnie Powell.
Survivors include his wife of 36 years, Mary Powell Wright of Statesboro; three daughters and a son-in-law, Rachel Norris of Statesboro, Michelle and Michael Mason of Ellabell and Katherine Wright of Statesboro; three brothers and sister-in-law, Jerry Wright of Statesboro, Gene Wright of Faulkville and James and Mellissa Wright of Statesboro; three sisters, Jackie Parker of Swainsboro, Mary Faye Johnson of Faulkville and Katie Darlene Dennison of Statesboro; four grandchildren, Tyler Mason, Hailey Mason, Christopher Menius and Trenton Menius; and numerous nieces and nephews and other relatives.
A memorial service will be held 11 A.M. Thursday, March 10, 2022 in the chapel of Flanders Powell Funeral Home.
