William Miller

Ellabell

William Kenneth “Kenny” Miller, age 80 passed away Wednesday, November 18, 2015 while under the care of Hospice Savannah.  Mr. Miller was a life-long resident of Ellabell and retired from Union Camp with 37 years of service in quality control. He was a life-long member of Ellabell United Methodist Church, was a past Worshipful Master of the Pembroke Masonic Lodge #469 F & AM, past president of the Bryan County Shrine Club, member of the Alee Shriners and past worthy patron for the Eastern Star.  Mr. Miller was a member of the Inez Smith Sunday School Class at his church and was very active in his church, having served as chairman of the administrative board as well as several other committees.  Mr. Miller served eight years in the Army National Guard and enjoyed hunting, fishing and traveling.  He especially loved going to bluegrass festivals and his time with his family. Mr. Miller was predeceased by his parents, Fred J. and Annie “Clyde” Darsey Miller and brother Fred Warren Miller.

Survivors include his wife, Joan Hendrix Miller; daughters and sons-in-law, Diane and Oscar Padgett, Donna and Skip Waters, Dale and Aaron “Junior”  Williams and Joannie and Barry Kohler; one brother and sister-in-law, John W. “Winky” and Linda Miller all of  Ellabell; nine grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held 5-8 P.M. Friday, November 20, 2015 at the funeral home.  Funeral service will be 11 A.M. Saturday, November 21, 2015 in the chapel of Flanders Morrison Funeral Home with Rev. Joe Leatherwood and Rev. Andy Brownley officiating.  Interment will follow in Ellabell Methodist Cemetery with masonic honors.
