Pembroke
Mr. William Charlie Lane, age 63, passed away Saturday, July 30, 2016 at his sister’s home after a brief illness. Mr. Lane was a life-long resident of Pembroke and a 1971 graduate of Bryan County High School. He retired from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers with over 27 years of service and was a long-time member of Pembroke United Methodist Church. Mr. Lane loved hunting, fishing, gardening and crossword puzzles. He is preceded in death by his parents, Lorin C. “Buck” Lane, Sr. and Leona Beasley Lane, and his brother, Lorin C. “Brother” Lane, Jr.
Survivors include three sisters, Mary Lane Payne, Becky L. Lane and Lisa L. Lane, all of Savannah; aunt and uncle, Lowell and Willette Steely; nieces Leah P. Oldham and Julia E. Payne; and great niece and nephews, Madeline G. Davis, Conner H. Davis and Lane A. Davis.
Visitation will be held 5-8 p.m. Monday, August 1, 2016 at the funeral home.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, August 2, 2016 in the chapel of Flanders Morrison Funeral Home with Dr. Thad Harvey officiating.
Interment will follow at Northside Cemetery.
