Pembroke-  Mr. William Grable Douglas, age 80, passed away Monday, Dec. 8 , 2014 after an extended illness.  Mr. Douglas was a long-time resident of Pembroke and a member of First Baptist Church, Pembroke for over 48 years.  He retired from Union Camp with over 42 years of service, was an avid fisherman and hunter, and was a huge Atlanta Braves fan.   Mr. Douglas was preceded in death by his parents, Wyly and Ila Mae Walden Douglas, his brothers Troy and Guyton, his sister Grace and his wife of over 61 years, Joylene “Joyce” Scott Douglas.

Survivors include his daughters and sons-in-law, Debbi and Wade Lester of Port Orange, FL and Cissy and Mark Nessola of Rincon; one sister, Wilma Wheeler of Swainsboro and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be 1-3 P.M. Friday, Dec. 12, 2014 at First Baptist Church of Pembroke.  Funeral service will be 3 P.M. Friday, Dec. 12, 2014 at the church with Dr. Bradley Butler and Pastor Stan Tyson officiating.  Interment will follow in Northside Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church of Pembroke, P.O. Box 1801, Pembroke, GA 31321 or Halifax Health-Hospice of Volusia/Flagler, 3800 Woodbriar Trail, Port Orange, FL 32129.  Flanders Morrison Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
