Werny Bast Blake

 Guyton-  Werny Bast Blake, age 81 passed away Wednesday, January 3, 2024 at Effingham Hospital.  Mrs. Blake was born in Copenhagen, Denmark on December 30, 1942.  She was retired from Sam’s Club after 17 years of service as a demonstration cook.  Previously she served as a substitute teacher at Bryan County High School.  Mrs. Blake enjoyed crocheting, traveling to the beach and the mountains and family dinners.  Mrs. Werny was preceded in death by two sons; Steve Blake and Bobby Blake; her twin brother and three sisters; Ruth, Leeni and Berta

Survivors include her husband of 64 years, Frank “Old Papa” Blake of Guyton, one daughter and son-in-law, Debby and Mitch Lynn of Guyton; one son, Dean “Dino” Blake of Pembroke; nine grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; one great great grandson and numerous other relatives.

A memorial service will be held 3 P.M. Sunday, January 7, 2024 at Emmanuel Community Church in Guyton with Rev. Mitch Lynn officiating.
