Mrs. Vera Ann Cook Youngblood, age 93, passed away on Wednesday, October 19, 2022. Mrs. Youngblood was born in Savannah on July 29, 1929 to the late V.J. Cook and Marie Fouche Scurgess. She was a loving and devoted house wife and loved reading, going to the Senior Center in Bulloch County where she was a member of the Kazoo Band but most important to her, was spending time with her family, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Mrs. Youngblood was a member of the First Baptist Church of Pembroke where she was a member of the Gleaners Sunday School Class.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her loving husband of 48 years, Frank Everette Youngblood, Sr. and sister, Billie Jo Sikes Sineath.
Survivors include her son, Frank E. Youngblood, Jr. of Greenville, SC; two daughters, Sandy Bazemore and her husband Lee of Pembroke and JoAnn Durrence and her husband Al of Brooklet; 11 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 23, 2022 from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Flanders Powell Funeral Home.
Funeral service will be held on Monday, October 24, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. at the First Baptist Church of Pembroke with Brother Tommy Smith officiating.
Burial will be held on Monday, October 24, 2022 at 12:30 p.m. in the Bonaventure Cemetery in Savannah, GA.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the First Baptist Church of Pembroke Building Fund, P.O. Box 1801, Pembroke, GA 31321.
