Mr. Vance Lee Knight, age 72 passed away Wednesday, August 1, 2018 at Candler Hospital after an extended illness. Mr. Knight was born in New Haven, CT on July 20, 1946 and was raised in Fort Lauderdale, FL. He served in the United States Marine Corps where he received a Purple Heart during the Tet Offensive of the Vietnam War. Mr. Knight was a member of the Marine Corps Heritage Foundation and worked as an electrician for Electronics 21 and his business, Emerald Electronics.
Mr. Knight was predeceased by his parents, James Knight, Sr. and Mildred Knight; one sister, Susan Graham; brother-in-law, Norman McCloud, Jr.; mother-in-law, Edith MacLeod and father-in-law, Norman MacLeod.
Survivors include his wife, Bonnie Dee MacLeod Knight of Statesboro; one son, Paul Lee Knight; one daughter, Samantha Brenner Studebaker; brother, James Knight, Jr.; three grandchildren and his beloved pets, Bentley, Abby and Poppett.
Visitation will be held 1-2:30 P.M. Tuesday, August 14, 2018 at St. Matthew Parish in Statesboro. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 2:30 at St. Matthew Parish with Father Douglas K.
