Tommie Rackley

Mrs. Tommie Gean Rackley, age 77, passed away at the Resorts of Pooler on Tuesday morning, April 19, 2022. Mrs. Rackley was born on June 7, 1944 to the late Raymond and Otis Irene Hudson Tallant in Memphis, TN. Mrs. Rackley was a member of Christ Baptist Church and the Red Hat Society. She started working as the magistrate clerk for Bryan County for over 10 years and later became the magistrate judge for two years before working as a bank teller with First Bank of Coastal Georgia for five years. Mrs. Rackley enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great granddaughter.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, James Lloyd Rackley, Sr.; son, Timothy Foster Rackley and brother, Randy Tallant.

Survivors include her son, James Lloyd Rackley, Jr. and his wife Lynn of Ellabell; brother, Ronnie Tallant of Memphis, TN; two grandchildren, Trey Rackley and his wife Lindsey of Ellabell and Reba McCook and her husband Stephen of Glennville; great granddaughter, Braelynn Rackley of Ellabell and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 26, 2022 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Flanders Powell Funeral Home.

Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, April 27, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. with Reverend Jim Rogers officiating.

Interment will follow in Lower Black Creek Cemetery.
