Theresa Joyce Jackson Jernigan, age 88 passed away Monday, August 30, 2021 at her home. Mrs. Jernigan was born June 30, 1933 in Savannah, GA to the late James Milner Jackson and Queen Selena Shearouse Jackson. Mrs. Jernigan was a trader at Keller’s Flea Market and enjoyed refinishing furniture. She was an excellent boss and manager; loved arts and crafts; enjoyed working in her yards and was of the Baptist Faith. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Jernigan was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, James Ray Jernigan and two children, William John Jernigan and Donna Lynn Johnson.
Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, James Randy and Jennie Jernigan of Pooler; three sisters, Brenda Craven, Barbara Tilton and Tootsie Ford; five grandchildren, Theresa Lynn Johnson, Christian Johnson, Shawn Johnson, Joseph Jernigan and Jared Jernigan; five great grandchildren, Marcus Jernigan, Megan Eason, Graycen Jernigan, Sophie Johnson, and Sawyer Johnson and two great great grandchildren, Levy Ricky Johnson and Grace Carter Eason.
Visitation will be held 6-8 P.M. Thursday, September 2, 2021 at Flanders Powell Funeral Home.
Graveside service will be 11 A.M. Friday, September 3, 2021 at Northside Cemetery with Pastor Edward Dees officiating.
