Blitchton-Steven Bryan Warnell passed away November 29, 2012. Steve was preceded in death by his mother Carolyn H. Warnell, his brother Harold Brooks Warnell III., his grandparents Harold Brooks and Frances Warnell, and grandfather Bert Hampton.
Steve was born May 12, 1981. A native of Bryan County, Steve made his home in Blitchton, Georgia. He graduated high school from Trident Academy in Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina. Steve was employed by Warnell Logging. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. Steve was an expert horseman and competed in many NCHA cutting horse competitions. In, 1996, Steve won the $50,000 Amateur Any Age making him the youngest winner in show history. In, 1999, he achieved a record-setting victory in the Area 18 Youth Scholarship Cutting at the Augusta Futurity. Steve was also a devoted fan of the University of Georgia Bulldogs.
Steve is survived by his father Harold Brooks Warnell, Jr. of Blitchton, GA, two sons, Hunter Brooks Warnell and Steven Austin Warnell, grandmother Estelle Hampton of Savannah, GA, brother Kenneth Hampton Warnell of Maryville, TN, fiancAC.e Jamie Bragg, Blitchton, GA, uncle Herbert (Karen) Warnell of Blitchton, GA, cousins Fran (Corey) Parker of Pembroke, GA, and Sarah Warnell of Blitchton, GA, extended family and many friends.
Visitaion for Steve will be held 4-7 P.M. on Saturday December 1, 2012 at the funeral home. Graveside Services will be 2 P.M. Sunday December 2, 2012 at Groveland Cemetery in Groveland, GA.
