Savannah- Weylan “Skip” Geiger, age 68 died Wednesday, November 26, 2014 after a long battle with lung cancer. Mr. Geiger was a former resident of Ellabell and was a wielder for and member of Ironworkers Local 709 for over 30 years. Mr. Geiger was a jack of all trades and could fix anything that was broken. He loved working on automobiles, solving puzzles, and reading Louis L’amour western novels. He was a wonderful dad and granddad that will be dearly missed by his family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harvey Lee and Evelyn Geiger; stepmother, Velma Geiger, one son, Joshua Geiger; and two brothers, Travis and Wayne Geiger.
Survivors include one son, Christopher Geiger of Ellabell; three daughters and a son-in-law Aleisha and Wesley Padgett of Ellabell, Ashley Harned of Savannah, and Christie Fadden of Ellabell; two brothers and a sister-in-law Aaron Geiger of Midway and Robert “Bobby” and Jean Olliff of Savannah; stepbrother George Olliff of Atlanta; one sister Barbara Britt of Savannah; grandchildren, Wes and Joshua Padgett, Adison and Christopher Geiger, Jr., Carson Harned, Delane Redmond, Kaitlyn and Kevin Fadden; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be 1-3 P.M. Monday, Dec 1, 2014 at the funeral home. Graveside services will be 3 P.M. Monday, Dec. 1, 2014 at Northside Cemetery with Dr. John Rainwater officiating. Flanders Morrison Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
