Shirley Wilson

Savannah-  Shirley Ann Sheffield Wilson, age 82 passed away Wednesday, December 7, 2022 at her home.  Mrs. Wilson was born in Eden, Georgia to the late Henry Peter Sheffield and Emma Lee Nesmith Sheffield.  She was a homemaker and a very loving wife, mother and granny.  Mrs. Wilson was a member of Chevis Oaks Baptist Church in Savannah and loved her church and church family.  She was a lady of faith and loves her Lord.  She enjoyed her flowers and her hummingbirds.  In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brothers, William S. Sheffield and Raymond L. Sheffield; sisters, Eva Cribbs, Anna Wilson, Beulah Wright and Ann Shuman and one son-in-law, Brook Braswell.

Survivors include her husband of 38 years, Chester Bell Wilson, Jr. of Savannah; two daughters, Paula Applegate of Guyton and Lynn Braswell of Guyton; three stepsons, Chuck and Sarah Wilson of Ellabell, David Wilson of Florida, and Jason and Stephanie Wilson of Ellabell; ten grandchildren, Leslie and Josh Blair, Christopher Lucree, John Redding, Jr and Miranda Redding, Brittany Applegate, James and Whitney Wilson, Amanda and Bradley Knight, Myranda and Chris Barlett, Holly Wilson, Maycee Wilson and Buster Wilson and eight great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held noon – 2 p.m. Monday, December 12, 2022 at the funeral home.  Funeral Service will be held 2 p.m. Monday, December 12, 2022 in the chapel of Flanders Powell Funeral Home with Pastor Kyle Wadell officiating with Pastor Jason Wilson assisting.  Interment will follow in Middleground Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.
