Shirley Joyce Roberts

Bulloch County-  Shirley Joyce Snipes Roberts, age 89, passed away Sunday, December 17, 2023.  Mrs. Roberts was born in Statesboro, GA to the late Arlin and Lona Mae Snipes.  Mrs. Roberts was retired as a sales associate with Belk Department Store and was a long-time member of Lawrence Baptist Church.  She was an excellent cook and loved taking care of her plants.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Cook; one son, Kenny Arthur Cook and three sisters, Norma Garcia, Arnie Ruth Ansley and Caroline Floyd.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Randy and Theresa Cook of Bulloch County; one brother, Arlin Robert “Bobby” Snipes, Jr. of Statesboro; grandchildren, Joey Cook, Brandi Cook, Harley Cook, Samantha Koerwer and Brandi Edenfield and great grandchildren, Chloe Edenfield, Tyler Cook, Jacob Cook, Emma Cook, Olivia Ladd, Madelyn Ladd, Mason Ladd, Charlotte Koerwer, Elliot Koerwer and Reagan Koerwer.

A graveside service will be held 11:30 A.M. Thursday. December 21, 2023 at Lawrence Baptist Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends 9 A.M. – 11 A.M. at Flanders Powell Funeral home on Thursday, December 21, 2023.
