Mrs. Shirley Ann Shuman Collins, age 72, passed away Thursday, August 6, 2015 while under the care of Ogeechee Area Hospice. Mrs. Collins was a long-time resident of Ellabell where she served as a waitress at Dasher’s and Ogeechee Restaurants and also served as secretary for Usher Enterprises and for the family business, Collins Wrecker Service. She was also an avid seamstress, good cook and a member of Black Creek Holy Church of God. Mrs. Collins was preceded in death by her parents, Leroy and Lucille Smith Shuman.
Survivors include her husband of over 56 years, Lloyd Collins of Ellabell; two sons and daughters-in-law Kimmy Lloyd and Merilyn Collins of Wilmington Island and Duran Lynn and Michelle Collins of Rincon; one sister, Cathryn Wilkes of Brooklet; three grandchildren and their companions, D.J. Collins and Brittney Holton of Statesboro, Brittney's son, Parson Stam ; and Zachary Aaron Collins of Rincon; Victoria “Tori” Collins and Karl Stock of Ellabell, and one nephew, Rocky Wilkes.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 9, 2015 from 3 – 6 pm at the funeral home.
Funeral service will be held on Monday, August 10, 2015 at 11 am in the chapel of Flanders Morrison Funeral Home with Pastor Stanley Tyson officiating.
Interment will follow in Lower Black Creek Church Cemetery.
