Ms. Sharon Elizabeth Strickland, 62, passed away at her residence surrounded by her family on Thursday, August 20, 2020. Ms. Strickland was born in Savannah on June 11, 1958 to the late George Alfred Strickland, Sr. and Mary Ellen VanGeuder Strickland. She was an EMT with Bryan County EMS, worked with Fort Stewart for 12 years and also worked for over 20 years with Memorial Hospital as a Medical Transcriptionist. Ms. Strickland loved her family, especially her nieces and nephews, enjoyed crocheting, was an excellent cook, especially her baked goods, was an avid reader, enjoyed crossword puzzles and was a member of Bloomingdale Fellowship Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Harry Strickland.
Survivors include three brother and sisters-in-law, George Alfred “Al” Strickland, Jr. (Judy) of Pembroke, Joseph “Jerry” Strickland (Angie) of Effingham and John “Terry” Strickland (Sherri) of Effingham; sister and brother-in-law, Lisa Bacon (David) of Ellabell,; nieces and nephews, Rebecca Johnson, Ryan Horton, Charlotte Waters, Robert Strickland, Shawn White, Kenneth White, Courtnie Bacon, Nickalas Bacon, Mark Strickland, Laura Strickland, Gabe Strickland, Holly Strickland, Anna Brooks and Andrew Brooks and numerous great nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be 2:00 - 3:00 p.m. Saturday, August 22, 2020 at Flanders Morrison Funeral Home.
Funeral service will be held 3:00 p.m. Saturday, August 22, 2020 in the chapel of Flanders Morrison Funeral Home with Rev. Shawn White officiating.
Burial will follow at Ellabell United Methodist Church Cemetery.
Due to COVID-19 the funeral home will limit the amount of guest at one time and ask that guest practice social distancing as well. Face mask are not mandatory but are strongly recommended.
