Saralyn Edith Smith Wells

Mrs. Saralyn Edith Smith Wells, age 78, passed away at St. Joseph’s Hospital on Friday, September 6, 2024. Mrs. Wells was born in Bulloch County to the late Charlie Edward Smith and Sara Edith Deloach Smith on July 7, 1946. She was a bus driver for Bryan County Board of Education for 19 years, loved antique shopping, tending to her flowers, sitting on her porch drinking coffee and was also a member of Beulah Baptist Church. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Odell Wells of 50 years; son, Wayne Wells; seven siblings, John Smith, Audrey Davis, Lucille Cook, Edna Davis, Doris Dickerson, Joann Miller and Calvin Smith and grandson, Bo Wells.

Survivors include her three children, Wendell Wells (Marcia) of Pembroke, Rhonda Wells (Connie) of Pembroke and Angela Floyd (Robert) of Jacksonville, FL; three siblings, Steve Smith (Darlene) of Meldrim, Elizabeth Sailors of Statesboro and Debbie Myers (James) of Statesboro; nine grandchildren, Cain Wells (McKayla), Wendy Wells (Bruce), Derick Martin (Ashley), Amber Mansur (Michael), Tara Napier (Jamie), Dalton Matthews (Madison), Zakary McFarland, Nickolas Floyd (Rachel) and Victoria Floyd (Will); 15 great grandchildren, Olivia Saralyn Wells, Raleigh Fischer Wells, Triston Wells (Charlotte), Nadia Wells (Jacob), Trevor Wells, Aubrey Wells, Kaleb Wells, Aaliyah Wells, Bentley Martin, Jaylin Napier, Jade Napier, Jaxon Napier, Jeorgia Napier, Olivia Mansur, Robbie Floyd and Ella Floyd and one great great grandchild, Julia Rose Brooks.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 10, 2024 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Flanders Powell Funeral Home.

Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, September 11, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. in the Flanders Powell Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Dan Bryant officiating.

Burial will be held at Red Hill Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.
