Rufus Wiggins

Pembroke-Mr. Rufus Lester Wiggins age 85 passed away Wednesday September 3, 2014 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in the presence of his loving family.  Mr. Wiggins was a lifelong resident of Pembroke and a member of Southland Baptist Church for 27 years.  He was retired from Civil Service at Ft. Stewart as the Leaderman over the Petroleum Oil Lubricant division.  He was an Army veteran of the Korean War and loved to fish, hunt, travel and cruises.  He is predeceased by his wife of 47 years Linnie Doris Vincent Wiggins, and his parents James Frank and Lanie Shuman Wiggins, and grandson Brian Wiggins.
He is survived by son and daughter-in-law Lester Eugene and Barbara A. Wiggins of Pembroke, a daughter and son-in-law Kathy and Gerald Walter of Ludowici, brothers Larry Wiggins of Pembroke, and Wesley Eugene Wiggins of Jacksonville, FL. a sister Faye Summerland of Savannah; four grandchildren Michael Minard, Lester Eugene Wiggins II, and Jennifer Renee Wiggins all of Pembroke, and Casey Gaskin of Ludowici, and a number of great-grandchildren.
Visitation is 6-9 P.M. Friday September 5, 2014 at the funeral home.  Funeral service will be 11 A.M. Saturday September 6, 2014 in the chapel of the funeral home with interment in Northside Cemetery.  Flanders Morrison Funeral Home of Pembroke is in charge of arrangements.
