Royal "Red" French Ryder, III

Royal French “Red” Ryder, III, age 78, passed away Wednesday, October 25, 2023 at his home.  Pastor Ryder was born in Baldwinsville, NY to the late Royal French Ryder, Jr. and Helen Heerena Ryder.  He was a sales manager for a furniture company and loved to fish and hunt.  Pastor Ryder’s passion was to share the gospel.  His church had no pulpit or steeple.  His ministry was in the streets, in the prisons and in the trenches.  In addition to his family, he was preceded in death by his grandson, Tony Torres and brother, Larry Teal.

Survivors include his wife, Debbie Ryder of Ellabell; daughter, Ginny Figueiredo of NJ; son, Shawn Williams of Warner Robins; stepchildren, Janet Titus of Statesboro, Carol Williams of AZ, Stephanie Maas of Savannah, Sandra Payne of Metter and Michala McCumbers; brothers Ralph Garrison of Stilson, Ronny Garrison of Stilson, and Gary Garrison of NY; one sister, Judy Upright of NY; 13 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. 

A memorial service will be held Noon Tuesday, October 31, 2023 in the chapel of Flanders Powell Funeral Home. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Gideons International at www.gideons.org.
