Mr. Roy Leonard Brindley, 68, passed away on Sunday, November 26, 2017 at Heritage Inn Health & Rehab. Mr. Brindley was born on August 23, 1949 to the late Robert and Lena Gulner Brindley in Mount Clemens, MI. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War with the 82nd Airborne Division and earned a Purple Heart during his service. After serving his country, Mr. Brindley worked for numerous companies as a carpenter and then retired as a janitor with the State of Michigan School Board. Mr. Brindley enjoyed fishing, hunting, and woodworking, was a member of the VFW Acorn Post 1669 in Royal Oak, MI. He is preceded in death by his wife of 44 years, Carol Ann Gwin Brindley and his parents.
Survivors include two daughters, Brandy Shuman and her husband Craig of Pembroke and Candy Brindley of Augusta; son, Shon Brindley of Michigan; two brothers, David Brindley and his wife Tina of Madison Heights, Michigan and Bobby Brindley of Florida; four sisters, Sharon Thorton of Michigan, Nancy Terry of North Carolina, Betty Dumke of Michigan and Jude Kade and her husband Ron of Michigan; six grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service for Mr. Roy Leonard Brindley will be announced at a later date.
