Mr. Ronnie Gene McGowan, 70, passed away on Saturday, October 14, 2017 at Optim Medical Center-Screven after a sudden illness. Mr. McGowan was born on October 20, 1946 to the late Gus McGowan and Betty Mae Lee in Pembroke. He worked as a tractor operator for Walkers Organic Farms, enjoyed fishing, hunting and most of all spending time with his family and grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by one daughter, Stacey McGowan and six sisters, Ida Louise Hall, Wynette Lee, Patricia McGowan, Thelma Baker, Ann Gober and JoAnn Howard.
Survivors include his loving wife of 37 years, Mary Godbee McGowan; two sons, Ronnie McGowan of Pembroke and Steven Godbee and his wife Phaedra of Sylvaina; two daughters, Tabatha Godbee and Heather Williams and her husband Billy all of Sylvania; sister, Betty Ortiz of Laredo, TX; 10 grandchildren; one great grandchild and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Monday, October 16, 2017 from 6 - 8 p.m. at Flanders Morrison Funeral Home.
Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 17, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Stan Tyson officiating.
Burial will follow at Northside Cemetery.
