Rolan David Shuman

Ellabell- Rolan David Shuman, age 71, passed away Monday, April 21, 2025 at his home. Mr. Shuman was born in Savannah, GA to the late Rolan Shuman and Mrs. Helen Smith Shuman. Mr. David retired as a supervisor of rail testing for CSX with over 45 years of service. He was also proud of the 22 years that he served in the United States Air Force Reserves. He was a long-time member of Bloomingdale Community Church and loved to fish, work on his cars and trucks and enjoyed carpentry work. In addition to his father, Mr. Shuman was preceded in death by one son, Ryan Matthew Shuman, I.

Survivors include his wife of over 52 years, Debbie Bragg Shuman of Ellabell; sons and daughters-in-law, Davey and Melissa Shuman of Ellabell and Robbie and Victoria Shuman of Ellabell; mother, Helen Smith Shuman of Faulkville; brothers and sisters-in-law, Ricky and Barbara Shuman of Faulkville and Mike and Lisa Shuman of Guyton; sister and brother-in-law Christe and Jeff Momot of Boynton Beach, FL; grandchildren, Ryan Matthew Shuman, II, Grant Shuman and Rolan Shuman; mother-in-law, Rebecca Curl Bragg of Ellabell; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Rufus Bragg, Jr. and Kim Bragg of Ellabell and their daughter and son-in-law, Robin and Jason Mock of Ellabell; Robin and Jason’s sons, Mason and Levi and several other nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held 1-2 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. in the chapel of Flanders Powell Funeral Home with Pastor Ken Otto officiating.

Interment will follow at Northside Cemetery with military honors.
