Mr. Richard “Rickey” Douglas Dickey, age 70, passed away on Thursday, October 5, 2023 at Hospice of Savannah. Mr. Dickey was born in Statesboro to the late James Douglas Dickey and Billie Jean Wilson on April 24, 1953. He enjoyed drag racing, mud bogging, fishing, bird hunting, deer hunting and spending time with his family. Mr. Dickey was an owner and operator as a truck driver for over 30 years.
He is preceded in death by his parents, James Douglas Dickey and Billie Jean Wilson.
Survivors include his loving wife of 51 years, Darlene Dickey; two sons, Chris Dickey (Bobbie) of Black Creek and Jim Banks (Laura) of Stillson; brother, Keith Wilson of Nevils; two sisters, Peggy Sparks and her companion Randy Kendrick of Brooklet and Traci McCarty of Statesboro; seven grandchildren, Stephanie Emeott (Wade), Tiphanie Banks, Sabrina Dickey, Crystal Dickey, Caden Alexander, Cayle Devine and Levi Dickey; two great grandchildren, Elleigh Emeott and Asher Emeott and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Family will receive friends from 12:00 – 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 14, 2023 at Flanders Powell Funeral Home.
Memorial service will follow at 1:00 p.m. in the Flanders Powell Funeral Home Chapel.
