Pembroke- Richard Lott Fortner, age 73, passed away Thursday, December 23, 2021 at Candler Hospital. Mr. Fortner was born in Savannah on June 20, 1948 to the late Elry and Marie Perry Fortner. He was a long-time resident of Bloomingdale before moving to Pembroke. Mr. Fortner was retired as a route sales representative for Greenwood and Swann and was a member of Central Baptist Church. He enjoyed bowling, bingo, poker and old westerns. In addition to his parents, Mr. Fortner was preceded in death by his brother, Johnny E. Fortner.
Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Kacy Cameron and Emily Fortner of Durham, NC; stepson, Sean Avant of Columbia, SC; stepdaughter, Angel Fabian of Bulloch County; brother and sister-in-law, Butch and Becky Fortner of Pembroke and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held 10:00 A.M. – 12:00 P.M. Tuesday, December 28, 2021 at Flanders Powell Funeral Home.
Funeral service will be noon Tuesday, December 28, 2021 in the chapel of Flanders Powell Funeral Home with interment to follow at Lower Black Creek Cemetery.
