Richard "Dick" Walter Parrish

Ellabell- Richard “Dick” Walter Parrish, Sr., age 72, went to be with the Lord on Monday, June 19, 2023, at his home.  Dick was born January 7, 1951, in Dumont, NJ, to the late Walter W. Parrish and Lillian E. Parrish. He was a long-time resident of Ellabell and retired as a Wood Checker from International Paper with over 37 years of service.

Pa especially enjoyed spending time with the love of his life, Patricia. He also enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren, his regular Wednesday night gatherings with his friends and golfing.   

In addition to his parents, Dick was preceded in death by his wife of 38 years, Patricia, and one son, Gabe Robertson. 

Survivors include two sons and daughters- in- law, Richard “Ricky” Parrish, Jr. and Alicia of Statesboro and Bruce Parrish and Brittany of Ellabell;  two sisters; Barbara J. Allen (Jim) of Murphy, NC, Jean P. McManus (Norman) of Jacksonville, FL; two brothers; David B. Parrish of Ellabell and Thomas W. Parrish of Savannah (Karen) and grandchildren; Stone, Alex, Griffin, Gatlyn, Luke and Ellie Joy. He was loved by many cousins, nieces, nephews, as well as other family and friends. 

The family will gather in a private service.  In lieu of flowers, any Memorials may be sent to a charity that was close to Pa’s heart, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis TN 38105.
