Perry Powell

Mr. Perry G. Powell, age 84, passed away at his residence on Tuesday, July 12, 2022. Mr. Powell was born in Bryan County on November 29, 1937 to the late Luther and Essie Mosley Powell. He was a member of the First Assembly of God in Savannah and worked for numerous years as an exterminator with Orkin and was an avid fisherman and enjoyed spending time with his family.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by one son, Perry Powell, Jr.; daughter, Dawn Purvis; six brothers, Gene Powell, Luther Powell Bill Powell, Willard Powell, Carl Powell and Kenneth Powell of Claxton and two sisters, Mary Purvis and Corine Powell.

Survivors include one son, Terry Powell of Greenwood, SC; four daughters, Brenda Frame and her husband Ted of Pembroke, Linda Flynn of Campobello, SC, Valerie Carter of Cleveland, GA and Sunshine Tomlinson and her husband Danny of Lincoln, NE; sister, Shirley Mauldin of Effingham; 9 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 17, 2022 from 2:00 – 3:00 p.m. at Flanders Powell Funeral Home.

Funeral service will follow at 3:00 p.m. in the Flanders Powell Funeral Home Chapel with Doctor Lawrence Butler officiating.

Bural will proceed at Lower Black Creek Cemetery.
