Brooklet-Mr. Perry C. Chaney age 91 passed away Thursday June 26, 2014 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in the presence of his family after a short illness. Mr. Chaney was formerly a longtime resident of Rincon, GA and a member of Crossway Worship Center in Pembroke. He was a Navy veteran of WW II, and retired from Brunswick Pulp and Paper as a Maintenance Supervisor with over 16 years faithful service. He loved working on cars, fishing and growing a garden. He was predeceased by his wife of over 65 years Floria Leigh Cowart Chaney, and parents Grover Cleveland and Sarah E. Harrell Chaney, and a son Joseph Denny Coe.
He is survived by one daughter and son-in-law Sondra “Sandy” Leigh Chaney and Ed Sykes of Brooklet, six grandchildren Brian and Brad Sykes, Joe, Scott, Matthew, and Pamela Coe, and a great granddaughter Leanna Sykes.
Visitation is 5-7 P.M. Sunday June 29, 2014 at the funeral home. Graveside services will be 11 A.M. Monday June 30, 2014 in Rincon Cemetery with Reverend Steve Hester officiating. Flanders Morrison Funeral Home of Pembroke is in charge of arrangements.
