Pembroke- Patricia Smith Beasley, age 64, passed away Wed. October 15, 2014 at St. Joseph’s Hospital. Mrs. Beasley was a long-time resident of Bryan County and a former employee of Union Bag. She attended The Bridge church, was a member of The Sisterhood, loved Bryan County Redskins sports, and was a former board member at Hendrix Park. Mrs. Beasley was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and adopted mother and aunt to hundreds. She was a true military daughter and wife. Often during the holidays, she would have soldiers in her home for meals and to share her family with them. She would regularly make trips to Ft. Stewart to welcome soldiers home. Mrs. Pat did this from the Vietnam War until she could no longer physically attend during Desert Storm. She was preceded in death by her parents, George Edward and Frances Wright Smith and her husband of 34 years, LeRoy Beasley and sister Helen Jean Smith.
Survivors include daughters and sons-in-law Georgette “Gina” Beasley and Raymundo Ramirez of Savannah, Carol Beasley and Gerard Austin, Jr. of LA., son and daughter-in-law Shannon and Vickie Bacon Beasley, step-father Paul Hodges, Jr. of Rincon; 6 grandchildren Sunny Beasley, Michelle Ramirez, Dylan Huggins, Ryan Beasley, Chace Beasley, and Alex Beasley, and 3 great-grandchildren Hunter Lee, Abigail Lee, and Kari Anne Ramirez; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Visitation is 6-9 P.M. Friday, October 17, 2014 at the funeral home. Funeral service will be 1 P.M. Saturday, October 18, 2014 in the chapel of the funeral home with Pastor Usher and Dr. Lawrence Butler officiating. Flanders Morrison Funeral Home of Pembroke is in charge of arrangements.
