Pembroke- Eleanor "Ms. Ellie" Ruth Futch, age 73, died Thursday, April 3, 2014 while under the care of Hospice Savannah and Delanie Rogers. Mrs. Futch was a long-time resident of Pembroke and was retired after 25 years of service as an associate of Walmart in Statesboro. She was a member of Lawrence Baptist Church and was involved in fund raising for the Children's Miracle Network. Ms. Ellie loved taking care of her family, was an excellent cook and an avid seamstress.
Survivors include two daughters and a son-in-law, Colleen Hensley of Seminole, FL and Toika Wassing and Stephen Crews of Brunswick; one son and daughter-in-law Michael Wassing and Delanie Rogers of Pembroke; sister and brother-in-law Betty and Richard Raynor; brother and sister-in-law Albert and Gail Colclough; six grandchildren, Ashley Wassing, David Morgan, Mara Alexandria and Rusty Beasley, all of Brooklet; Michael and Lacy Bell Putanam of Brunswick, Matthew Thompson, Samuel Sager and Shaun Sager; and five great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held 4-6 P.M. Sunday, April 6, 2014 at the funeral home. Funeral service will be held 11 A.M. Monday, April 7, 2014 at Lawrence Baptist Church with Rev. Albert Hodges officiating.
