Pembroke- Vivian Gay Shuman, age 89, died Tuesday, May 20, 2014 at Ogeechee Area Hospice after an extended illness. Mrs. Shuman was a homemaker and long-time member of Pembroke Christian Church. She worked as a volunteer with her church and many other organization including the North Bryan Food Bank. Mrs. Shuman was an avid gardener and loved taking care of her flowers and yard. She was preceded in death by her husband of 38 years, B. W. Shuman.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law Wesley and Cheryl Shuman of Brunswick; daughter and son-in-law Brenda and Tony Browning of Titusville; brother and sisters-in-law Cecil and Patsy Gay of Brunswick and Caroline Gay of Statesboro; sister and brother-in-law Dorothy and Thomas Waters of Pembroke, four grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Graveside service will be 11 A.M. Saturday, May , 31, 2014 at Northside Cemetery with Rev. Jim Sullivan officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the Pembroke Christian Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 479, Pembroke, GA 31321. Flanders Morrison Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
