Portal- Susan Ann Wilkes Singletary, age 62 died Tuesday evening, August 14, 2012 at Memorial Medical Center. Mrs. Singletary was a former nurse at Ogeechee Area Hospice and was a member of Aaron Church of God. She enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, gospel music and especially time with her grandchildren. Mrs. Singletary was predeceased by her parents Annie Adell and Curtis Franklin Wilkes; one sister Rosene Williams, two brothers Frank and Jerome Wilkes and one grandson
Survivors include her husband of 38 years T.E. Singletary of Portal; one son J.C. Cowart of Ellabell; two daughters Mary Ann Ross of Statesboro and Miriam Spangler of Portal; one brother Richard Wilkes of Pembroke; five sisters Peggy Cowart of Pembroke, Patricia Tokarz of Ms., Rebecca Sikes of Ellabell, Elaine Boyles of Statesboro and Jacqueline Todd of Pembroke; 8 grandchildren; one great grandson and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held 6-9 P.M. Thursday at the funeral home. Graveside service will be 11 A.M. Friday at Oak Grove Baptist Cemetery in Portal with Rev. Roy Jarrell officiating. Flanders Morrison Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
