Pembroke-Mrs. Leona Greco age 88 passed away Thursday August 9, 2012 while surrounded by her loving family. Mrs. Greco was a member of Lower Mill Creek Primitive Baptist Church in Statesboro and a former resident of Pembroke. She was a loving Christian mother and devoted servant of God who NEVER met a stranger. She was preceded in death by her mother Ellie Hagan Parrish and her father John Daniel Hagan, sister Nell Strickland; brothers John and Harry Hagan, infant daughter Patricia Yancey, and her husband John Greco.
She is survived by son Johnny Yancey, daughter and son-in-law Joy Y. and Bennie Elrod; brother and sister-in-law Joe and Jeannie Hagan, sister and brother-in-law Sarah and L.G. Fowler; grandchildren Chris and Lorie Hendrix, Karen Patterson, and Jerry Yancey; great grandchildren Eric and Rosie Patterson; Jamie, Taylor and Logan Hendrix; Caleb, Kerstin, CasSandra Yancey and many extended family she loved and adored.
Visitation will be 5-8 P.M. Saturday August 11, 2012 at the funeral home. Funeral service is 3 P.M. Sunday August 12, 2012 in the chapel of Flanders Morrison Funeral Home with interment in Ash Branch Primitive Baptist Church cemetery.
Pallbearers are Terry Hagan, Waymon Hagan, Pat Strickland, Mark Strickland, Jeremy Strickland, and Michael Lancaster.
