Brooklet- Mrs. Lena Mage Kniphfer Shuman, age 84, died Saturday, April 5, 2014 at Ogeechee Area Hospice. Mrs. Shuman was retired as a seamstress from what is now Aramark Uniform Service and was a member of the Church of God of Prophecy in Springfield. She enjoyed fishing, camping, sewing, crocheting, and gardening and loved taking care of dogs.
Survivors include her sons and daughter-in-laws, Howard and Dell Shuman of Brooklet and Roy and Levita Shuman of Pembroke; grandchildren Tammy Williams, William "Buckshot" Shuman, and Chip Shuman and nine great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held 1-3 P.M. Tuesday, April 8, 2014 at the funeral home. Graveside service will be 3 P.M Tuesday, April 8, 2014 in Northside Cemetery with Pastor Jon Edmiston officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made Lena M. Shuman Fund, c/o Tammy Williams or Levita Shuman. Flanders Morrison Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
