Dublin- Mrs. Joyce Arlene Newton Miles, age 82, died Friday, July 12, 2013. Mrs. Miles was a native of Brockton, MA and served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict as a WAVES. She was a long time resident of Dublin and had attended the Dublin Church of the Nazarene. Mrs. Miles was retired as a manager at Oxford Clothing Outlet in Dublin. She enjoyed knitting, was an avid reader and loved animals, especially her cats. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmie Shave Miles, Sr., one brother, Robert Edward Newton and one granddaughter, Beth Miles Daly.
Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law Jimmie Shave Miles, Jr. and Debra Miles of Pembroke and Robert Edward and Connie Miles of Richmond Hill; one sister Lois Newton of Alton, NH; three granddaughters, Brandi Simon, Tina Myers and Kim Jackson; a special cousin, Margie Sawyer of Stoughton, MA; eight great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
Visitation will be held 6-9 P.M. Monday, July 15, 2013 at the funeral home. Funeral services will be held 2 P.M. Tuesday, July 16, 2013 in the chapel of Flanders Morrison Funeral Home with burial to follow in Northside Cemetery Flandersmorrisonfuneralhome.com
