Guyton-Mrs. JoAnn McLaughlin Lanier age 78 passed away Tuesday September 3, 2013 at Evans Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Lanier was a resident of Guyton for over 40 years, and a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Port Wentworth. She was a seamstress, loved sewing and was a good cook. She was predeceased by her parents Edward Lamar and Mary Ardley Buckman McLaughlin.
She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Kennith Logan Lanier, Sr. of Guyton, children and spouses Kennith Logan Jr. and Suzanne Lanier of Minogua WI, James Curtis Lanier of Denver CO, Lawrence A. and Jolene Lanier of Guyton, John Lanier of Rincon, Andrew J. Lanier of Savannah and Karen Diane Lanier of Savannah; sister Dorthy Rae Stevens of Gum Branch, nine grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
Visitation is 1-3 P.M. Saturday September 7, 2013 at the funeral home. Funeral service will be 3 P.M. in the chapel of Flanders Morrison Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Ash Branch Primitive Baptist Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Alzheimers Association: Georgia Chapter, 201 Television Circle, Savannah, GA 31406; or to the charity of your choice.
