Janet Sasser Bazemore passed away on December 6, 2013 at her home. The Bulloch County native was the daughter of the late Clarance and Gladys Sasser. She retired from the United States Logistics Dept. at Ft. Stewart. As the daughter of a military father, Janet traveled and lived in many interesting places such as Alabama, Washington, D.C., Alaska, Fort Walden Beach, Fla., St. Louis, MO, San Francisco, Karumusel, Turkey, and Athens, Greece. Janet had a great love of travel and continued to do so through-out her life.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarance and Gladys Sasser, her loving aunt, fondly called Sister, Verna Johnson, and her beloved husband, Randall H. Bazemore.

Janet, known to her friends and family as Jan, showed great love and compassion to people and especially to animals. She adopted many abandoned and sheltered animals through-out her life. She loved being with her pets, walking in the woods, and spending time at the beach. Jan loved to read and was happy to share her knowledge and books with friends and strangers. She also loved to exercise and work out with her friends. She loved deeply and always stretched out her hand to those in need.

Surviving are two stepdaughters, Michelle Bacenas (Tom) of Los Angeles CA, Tracy Bacenas(Jason) of Ottawa, Canada, two grandchildren Andrew and Dylan of Ottawa,Canada, a brother Gregory Earl (Shari) Sasser, loving mother-in-law, Bessie Bazemore, sister-in-laws Brenda (Milton) Smith, Bonnie Kay (Robert)Hughes of Pembroke, GA. She also had special nieces and nephews, Joseph and Savana Hughes, Ernesto, Amie, Sayanna, and Faith Bautista, Dave, Melissa, and Grant Shuman, and numerous other relatives and a special friend Libby Williamson.

A private memorial service was held for Janet on December 10, 2013 at Flanders Morrison Funeral Home.
