Ellabell-Mrs. Iris Elaine Shuman age 65 passed away Tuesday October 15, 2013 at Emory University Hospital surrounded by her loving family. Mrs. Shuman had been a long time employee of the Food service industry and was a member of Solid Rock Church. She was an excellent cook, and enjoyed attending and holding yard sales. She was predeceased by her parents Tale and Bertie Godbee Mock.
She is survived by her husband of 46 years Jimmy O. Shuman, sons and daughter-in-laws Michael and Sherry Shuman of Ellabell, Jeff and Jeane Shuman of Guyton, and Stacey and Emily Shuman of Port Wentworth, daughter Kristen Shuman of Ellabell; brothers Ernest "Jr." Mock . and Ronnie Mock of Fleming, step-brothers Donnie and Ronnie Callahan, sister Georgia Prince of Augusta, step-sisters Melba Jean Wiles, Helen Holden and Amy Callahan, grandchildren Meghan Cody, Jeromy. Brianna, Micheala, and Daughtry Shuman.
Visitation is 6-8 P.M. Friday October 18, 2013 at the funeral home. Funeral service will be 11 A.M. Saturday October 19, 2013 in the chapel of the funeral home with Reverend Greg McAllister officiating. Interment will follow at 1 P.M. in Double Head Cemetery in Screven County. Flanders Morrison Funeral Home of Pembroke is in charge of arrangements.
