Brooklet- Mrs. Floria Leigh Cowart Chaney, age 88, passed away Saturday, Jan. 4, 2014 after an extended illness. Mrs. Chaney was a homemaker and a member of Crossway Worship Center in Pembroke. She loved taking care of her flowers and was an avid reader.
Survivors include her husband of over 65 years, Perry C. Chaney of Brooklet, one son and daughter-in-law, Joseph Denny and Mickey Coe of Collins, one daughter and son-in-law Sondra "Sandy" Leigh Chaney Sykes and Ed Sykes of Brooklet, one sister, Clara Nell Lane of Rincon, six grandchildren, one great granddaughter and a number of nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held 6-9 P.M. Tuesday, Jan. 7, 2014 at the funeral home. A graveside service will be held will be held 2 P.M. Wednesday, Jan. 8, 2014 in Rincon Cemetery. Flanders Morrison Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Flandersmorrisonfuneralhome.com
