Randall Hawley Bazemore, age 71, passed away peacefully on April 27
th
at home with family. His battle with pulmonary fibrosis was a sad and tragic loss to his wife, family, and friends.
Randall was known for his kind heart and bringing comfort to others. He graduated from Bryan County High School in 1960 and went on to complete a degree in electronics. Randall began his career with RCA, where he was stationed on the Seychelles Islands and Ascension Islands for five years. He then transferred to Cape Canaveral, FL where he worked and supervised the mission control of the Mercury Missile Program. After returning to Pembroke, Randall worked and retired from the Department of the Army, where he held several positions, including Chief of the Maintenance Branch and Communication Site Supervisor, in Ft. Stewart, GA. He was later stationed in the Panama Canal Zone, where he served as the Chief of Internal Calibration, supervising both military and civilian employees. Following his retirement from the Department of the Army, Randall owned and operated the Pembroke Appliance Center and completed his career managing and maintaining his rental properties. Throughout his life, he was a true jack-of-all-trades.
Randall enjoyed nature and spending time outdoors. His favorite pastimes were fishing, riding bikes on the beach, and spending time with his three dogs, which always made him laugh. Randall's legacy was his restoration and organization of his family and ancestor's pictures
Randall was preceded in death by his father, Hawley T. Bazemore, grandparents, and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. He is survived by his wife and best friend, Janet Sasser Bazemore, his loving mother, Bessie Clanton Bazemore, two beloved daughters, Sydney Michelle Bacenas (Tom) of Singapore and Tracy Renee Bacenas (Jason) of Ottawa, Canada, two grandsons, Andrew and Dylan, two sisters, Brenda Bazemore Smith (Milton) and Bonnie Kay Hughes (Robert), along with nieces and nephews, all of whom he loved very much.
Visitation will be held 6-8 P.M Wed. May 1
st
at the funeral home. Funeral services will be held 2 P.M. Thursday, May 2 in the chapel of Flanders Morrison Funeral Home with Rev. Matt Avera and Rev. Dan Bryant officiating. Pall Bearers will be Joe Hughes, Johnny Hagans, Ernesto Bautista, Davey Shuman, and Robbie Shuman.
