Blitchton-Mr. Mickey Lamar Golding age 54, passed away Tues. July 31 at St. Joseph Hospital surrounded by his family. Mr. Golding was born in Wytheville, VA. and was a teacher having taught in Screven and Pierce County Schools and most recently in Shanghia, China. He was of the Southern Baptist Faith and enjoyed camping, traveling, Science fiction, coaching, sports, and had been a counselor at YMCA in Sylvania, GA. He was preceeded in death by his father David Ray Golding Sr. and two brothers Martin Benjamin Golding, and David Ray Golding Jr.
He is survived by his mother Maggie Mae "Doll" Bath Golding, two sons Michael C. Golding of Morgan, GA. and Brian Benjamin Golding of Sylvania; two brothers Joe Edward Golding Sr. of Blackshear and Herman Lee Golding of Blitchton, and sister Hazel Mae Golding of Brooklet; fiancAC. Vera Luo, and several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Visitation will be 5-8 P.M. Wednesday August 1, at the funeral home. Funeral service is 11 A.M. Thursday August 2, in the chapel of the funeral home with Rev. Clint Sullens officiating. Flanders Morrison Funeral Home of Pembroke is in charge of arrangements.
