Ellabell-Mr. John Willie Godley age 87 passed away Saturday June 22, 2013. Mr. Godley was a resident of Ellabell for 51 years and a founding member of Christ Baptist Church. He was a WWII Navy veteran where he served in the Pacific Theatre as a member of the SeaBee's. He was retired from Union Camp as a machine operator; and loved fishing, hunting, his family, and in later years his big love was the church. He is predeceased by his wife of 46 years Felicia Greene Godley, parents Hayward and Johnnie Edna Rich Godley, two grandchildren, seven brothers and two sisters..

He is survived by daughter and son-in-law Fetina and Dennis Brannen of Statesboro, sons and daughter-in-laws; Paul and Michelle Godley of Ellabell and Charles L. "Chuck" Godley of Savannah, step-son and daughter-in-law James Oscar and Lavon Nelson of Pembroke, step-daughter and son-in-law Lillian and George Allen of San Marcos, CA, twelve grandchildren and ten great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.

Visitation is 6-8 P.M. Friday June 28, 2013 at the funeral home. Funeral service will be 11 A.M. Saturday June 29, 2013 in the funeral home chapel with Reverend Travis Cowart and Reverend John Edmisten officiating. Interment will follow in Olive Branch Baptist Church Cemetery with military honors.
