Pembrokea�"James M. Godley, age 70, passed away Sunday, March 16, 2014 at Eagle Health and Rehabilitation. Mr. Godley was a native of Savannah, but had lived in Pembroke for over 28 years. He was a member of Pembroke Christian Church and Ivanhoe Hunt Club. Mr. Godley loved to hunt and fish, sitting on the back porch with family and friends, and was an avid Washington Redskins fan. He was preceded in death by his parents, Madicus H. and Catherine Bell Godley.
Survivors include his wife of 29 years, Helen M. Godley of Pembroke; daughters and sons-in-law, Janet and Steve Ashburn of Warrenton, VA, Karen and Tim Ramage of Savannah, and Christine and Jody Callison of Pembroke; brother and sister-in-law Richard and Martha Godley of Florence, SC; grandchildren Megan Wright of Phoenix, Stefanie Ashburn of Warrenton, VA, Josh Ashburn of Fairfax, VA, Justice Ramage of Statesboro, Jericho Ramage of Statesboro and Rachel Hagan of Pembroke; great grandchildren, Annabella, Savannah, Noah, Elijah, and Colt; mother-in-law Moira McKinnie; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law Mary and Manuel Sanchez, Martin and Joan McKinnie, Barbara McKinnie, Neil and Sue McKinnie, Bruce and Alice McKinnie and Moira Hoyt, and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held 5-8 P.M. Tuesday, March 18, 2014 at the funeral home. Funeral service will be held 11 A.M. Wed., March 19, 2014 in the chapel of Flanders Morrison Funeral Home with Pastor Jim Sullivan, Jr. officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Pembroke Christian Church.
