Pembroke- Ellis D. Huggins, Sr. age 92 died Wednesday morning, March 13, 2013 at The Place in Pooler. Mr. Huggins was a long-time resident of Bryan County and was a farmer and truck driver for over 30 years. He was an avid gardener and loved to hunt. Mr. Huggins is preceded in death by his wife of Ella Mills Huggins, parents John Robert and Oma Julia Groover Huggins and three sons Michael, Chuck and Bobby Huggins and two sisters Thelma Powell and Lanell Tilton.
Survivors include sons and daughter-in-laws Ellis D. Jr. and Cindy Huggins of Pembroke, Terry and Gale Huggins of Brooklet and Rick and Sandy Huggins of Pembroke; daughters and son-in-laws Martha and Randy Barker of Twin City, Susan Sutherland of Twin City and Louise and Leon Glacking of Covington, KY; 22 grandchildren and numerous great and great-great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held 10 A.M. - Noon Friday March 15, 2013 at the funeral home. Funeral service will be held 2 P.M. Friday in the chapel of Flanders Morrison Funeral Home with burial to follow in Lower Black Creek Cemetery. Flandersmorrisonfuneralhome.com
