Statesboro-Mr. Donald "Pops" Wells age 69 passed away Wednesday January 1, 2014 at home in the presence of his loving family. Mr. Wells was a U.S. Army veteran having served in Vietnam and was also a member of the Army National Guard. He was formerly a rod buster with Ironworkers Local 709 and an avid fisherman. He was preceded in death by his parents Dan and Essie Floyd Wells and daughter Sandra Wells.
He is survived by his wife of 42 years Vickie Wells of Statesboro, two sons Daniel Wells of Statesboro and D.L. Wells of Nevils, brother and sister-in-law Ronald and Judy Wells of Macon, and brother-in-law and sister-in-law Lee and Angie Williams of Ellabell; two grandchildren Daniel Joseph Wells and Ayden Lewis and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
Memorial service is 2 P.M. Saturday January 4, 2014 in the chapel of Flanders Morrison Funeral Home. Flanders Morrison Funeral Home of Pembroke is in charge of arrangements.
