Groveland--Mr. Alan Zane Shuman age 48 passed away Tuesday November 19, 2013 at home. Mr. Shuman was a heavy equipment operator with McLendon Enterprises of Vidalia and a member of Trinity Baptist Church of Richmond Hill. He was a member of the N.R.A., loved deer and turkey hunting; loved music and was an avid Waylon Jennings fan. He was preceded in death by his parents George Jr. and Jeanette Hodges Shuman.
He is survived by his wife Nancy Groover Shuman of Ellabell, son James Shuman and daughter Taylor Shuman both of Ellabell, three brothers and sisters-in-law Craig and Michelle Shuman of Brooklet, David and Melissa Shuman of Groveland, and Micheal Shuman of Pembroke; one sister and brother-in-law Nina and Gene VanGiller of Groveland; mother and father-in-law Thurmond and Carole Groover of Ellabell, and grandmother Vivian Akins Glisson of Ellabell, and several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Visitation is 6-9 P.M. Thursday November 21, 2013 at the funeral home. Graveside service will be 11 A.M. Friday November 22, 2013 at Northside Cemetery with Sammy Groover and Chris Howard officiating. Pallbearers are his brothers Craig, David, and Michael Shuman, and nephews Morgan VanGiller, Brandon Shuman and Samuel Groover. Honorary pallbearers are Donald Driggers, Buddy Burnsed, David Warnell, and Jimmy Cook. Flanders Morrison Funeral Home of Pembroke is in charge of arrangements.
