Pooler- Mrs. Miriam Frances Tuten Ussery, age 76 passed away Monday, June 30, 2014 at her home. Mrs. Ussery was retired from St. Joseph’s Hospital with over 21 years of service as the emergency receptionist. She loved to fish and crab, but what she really adored were her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Mrs. Ussery was preceded in death by her parents, Percy and Alma Tuten, her husband, Burt A. Ussery, Jr., two sons, Steve Hester and Roger Hester and several brothers and sisters.
Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law, Shelby and Bill Stewart of Black Creek, Sandra and Bobby Hurn of Sequim, WA and Regina and Marty Curl of Black Creek; brothers, Jason Tuten of Guyton and Ronnie Tuten of Savannah; sisters, Charlene Ginn of Barnville, SC and Doris Schaffer of Idaho; five grandchildren, Patricia Hurn Burnette, Pamela Stewart Gunter, Allen Stewart, Stephen Curl, and Brandon Curl; and several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be 1-3 P.M. Thursday, July 3, 2014 at the funeral home. Funeral service will be 3 P.M. Thursday, July 3, 2014 in the chapel of Flanders Morrison Funeral Home with Dr. Brad Butler officiating. Interment will follow in Lower Black Creek Cemetery.
