Michele Wilson Godley

Mrs. Michele Wilson Godley, age 64, passed away at Ogeechee Area Hospice on Friday, August 11, 2023. She was born in Statesboro to the late Woodrow Wilson and Frances Brown Wilson on July 25, 1959. Mrs. Godley was a loving and caring housewife and a longtime member of Olive Branch Baptist Church where she was a member of the Adult Sunday School Class. She enjoyed being outside, carpentry work and loved spending time with her family.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Dennis Wilson.

Survivors include her loving husband of 43 years, Paul V. Godley; son, Jonathan Paul “J.P.” Godley and his wife Ashley of Brunswick; three sisters, Sylvia Brandon and her husband Skip of Pooler, Faye Owens and her husband David of Pembroke and Marolyn Strickland and her husband Gary of Ellabell; two fraternal twin grandchildren, Emma and Easton and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 15, 2023 from 11:00 – 12:00 p.m. at Olive Branch Baptist Church.

Funeral service will follow at 12:00 p.m. with Pastor Pete Wall officiating.

Burial will be held in the Olive Branch Baptist Church Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Flanders Powell Funeral Home and Crematory.
