Mary Toler

Mary A. Toler, 71, of Ellabell passed away Saturday, August 28, 2021 at Bulloch Memorial Hospital in Statesboro, Ga. Mrs. Toler was a member of Meldrim Baptist Church, where, she faithfully served as Treasurer, Worked in VBS, helped with Family Night/Day Dinners, was a member of the Faith in Action SS Class & the CCC Ministry. She was also on the Pastor Search Committee, the Nominating Committee, Policy and Procedures Committee as well as the Finance Committee. Mrs. Toler received her education degree from Georgia Southern University and served the Bryan Co. Community well for several years as a Special Education Teacher at the high school level and Softball coach for the Lady Redskins. Also assisting with the Special Olympics until her retirement in 2003. She enjoyed playing Bingo with her bingo club, loved everything about Christmas and was the light of her family’s life!

She is proceeded in death by her loving husband of 39 years, Mr. William E. “Jimmy” Toler of Ellabell. Both parents, Charles Hubert Sapp of Meldrim, Dorothy V. Mobley Sapp of Meldrim and a sister, Geneva Sapp (infant).

She is survived by two daughters, Lisa (Neil) Adams of Pembroke and Amy (Rusty) Yancey of Arkansas. Grandchildren, Jessie (Tyler) Lane of Ashburn, Ga, Thomas “Ryan” Adams of Pembroke, Ga, William “Will” Adams of Pembroke, Ga, Jamie (David) Donawho of Anderson, Ak and Jennifer (Joe) Sisneros of California. Thirteen great grandchildren, two siblings, Hubert ”Buck” (Letitia) Sapp of Meldrim and Linda (Ernie) Slater of Meldrim. Several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation will be held on Friday, September 3, 2021 from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Flanders Powell Funeral Home.

Memorial service will be held at a later date.

Burial will be private.
