Ellabell
Mrs. Mary Alice Powell, age 87, passed away peacefully Thursday evening at Bryan County Health and Rehabilitation Center. Mrs. Powell was born on Sept. 4, 1928 in Evans County to the late Buford and Vada Viola Lee Powell. She was a member of Christ Baptist Church, retired as a caregiver to the elderly, loved to fish and enjoyed cooking for her family and greatly enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one son, David Thomas Burns.
Survivors include three sons and daughters-in-law, Brannen and Mary Edwards, George Daniel and Cynthia Edwards and Donald Philip and Julie Burns, all of Ellabell; one sister, Virginia Kerr of Hennesey, OK; nine grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Sunday from 3 -5 p.m. at Flanders Morrison Funeral Home.
Funeral service will be held on Monday at 3 p.m. in the Flanders Morrison Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Tim Traywick officiating.
Burial will follow at Northside Cemetery.
