Mr. Mark Cornell Sparks, age 63, passed away at his residence on Thursday, November 24, 2022. Mr. Sparks was born in Savannah to the late Ralph Talmadge and Joyce Helen Fennell Sparks on March 25, 1959. He was a member of Emmett Grove Baptist Church, enjoyed fishing, watching Nascar and was on the test crew member with Goodyear for the Richard Childress Racing. Mr. Sparks was employed as a master electrician for Sack Company and later as a lumber salesman for Howard Lumber Company.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one stepson, William Anthony Christenson; and stepdaughter, Holly Ann Christenson.
Survivors include his loving wife of 15 years, Cheryl Lynnette Sparks; son, Nicholas Hopkins of Pembroke; three daughters, Jessica Higgins of North Carolina, Ashley Clark of Texas and Lauren Love of Savannah; brother, Ralph Trent Sparks of Bulloch; two sister, Cathy Swagert of Savannah and Susanne Jackson of St. Simons; 3 grandchildren and four step grandchildren.
Family will receive friends on Thursday, December 1, 2022 from 2:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. at Flanders Powell Funeral Home.
A memorial service will at 3:00 p.m. in the Flanders Powell Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Bobby Gale.
Burial will be private.
