Marilyn Proman Barnes

Ellabell- Marilyn Proman Barnes, age 71, passed away Sunday, March 2, 2025 while under the care of Hospice Savannah. Mrs. Barnes was born in Savannah, Georgia to the late Franklin Proman and Frances Hodges Proman. She was a 1972 graduate of Tompkins High School and lived in Savannah until moving to Ellabell 25 years ago. Mrs. Barnes worked in retail and supply for Walmart in Savannah and enjoyed taking care of her geese and peacocks. She enjoyed the beach and the North Georgia mountains, but most of all, she cherished her time with her granddaughters.

 Survivors include her husband of 24 years, David Barnes of Ellabell; one son, Michael Vines of Richmond Hill; one stepson and step daughter-in-law, David Anthony and Sarah Barnes of Port St. Lucie, Florida; one brother, Carl Proman of Bulloch County and two granddaughters, Emmyline Barnes and Londyn Barnes.

 A graveside service will be held at 11 A.M. Thursday, March 6, 2025 at Hillcrest Abbey West with Pastor Stan Tyson officiating.
